"Japan is my second home." -Zaneta Lai
I feel really sad now to be posting about the Japan Exchange. ): It was really so fun! Hahaha. Probably the most exciting and fruitful 10 days in my whole life! I've longed to go to Japan in my whole life, and now I've finally been there! Haha. I don't know where on Earth I want to go next! Haha.
Anyway, let's start from the beginning. We touched down on 26 May, and were taken to a place to wear our Yukata (Summer Kimono). It was really difficult to wear it, so there were two Japanese ladies who helped us fit them. Then we went to have an amazing race! It was difficult to get to the different locations, especially when we had to ask for directions is Japanese! Haha. But we made it through. ^^
Day 2 was crazy! My hotel roomate Beatrice and I woke up at 8am when we were supposed to meet at 7.30am! Haha! That was cause the day before, we went to crash Zaneta and Valerie's room till 1am, then went back to our room till 3am! Lolox. The teachers called us like a million times but we didn't pick up, both obviously sleeping like nobody's business. Then they came knocking at our door! Hahahaha, super epic!
The next day, we went to Shiroyama Junior High School. (: The boys were really super cute! (: Hahaha! I felt really very welcomed there. The Japanese were really very kind-hearted and polite. They actually have lunch in the classroom! O.O And it is distributed to them one. Haha. I thought school lunch would be boring, but it was really very good! And very big serving too! Then for CCA, I joined in band! (: Had a zitter class. Haha. Very fun. ^^
Day 4 was an exciting time. We had Ikebono class. Ikebono means flower arrangement in Japanese. It was fun to use your creativity on arranging the beautiful flowers! :D Then we had the Japanese Tea Ceremony. It was really tiring to kneel for like, half an hour there. You mustn't move, its a form of respect. This really old Japanese lady started telling us about the tea ceremony. Haha. Then, we had a kinball match. Kinball is a ball game where you form groups of four versus another four and hold this really BIG ball. Haha. Then the exciting part-We were gonna meet our host families! Haha. I was to stay with Zaneta. (: We met our family, the Yokoyama family. They had two sons and daughters. We didn't really interact with the sons, but we were really close to their daughters, Yuko and Nao! (: They were really nice.
The next day, we stayed at home and made Takoyaki! Zaneta and I had always LOVED to eat Takoyaki in Singapore, so it was awesome to actually MAKE it! :D It tasted really awesome, of course! Then we went to the biggest (and apparently, only) shopping centre in Toyama, which was called Favore. Haha. The walls were orange! O.O Took neo-prints for only like, S$3! Crazy price! Haha! I bought a toy dog for my sister and some notebooks and stuff. It was really fun!
On Day 6, we left our host families. EVERYONE was in tears. Zaneta cried till her nose red like don't know what. Haha. I cried too, but not as badly as Zaneta. We took some last photographs with the family together, and then left sadly. Went to the snowy mountain! XD I kenna mountain sickness. T_T They had to take me to see the nurse. Haha. Cause low oxygen level. Then later on I was feeling better, so we went sledding! The snow was crazy! We had a super lot of fun!
The next day, we went to the world heritage centre Shirakawa-go. It was beautiful, all the paddy fields and such. :D I loved the houses! We walked around in our groups. (: GROUP 4 FTW! Haha. When we reached the top of the mountain, the sight was just so beautiful! We were like amazed. (: And I think I'll definitely pass map reading in Geography after that, with all the complicated map readings. Haha!
On Day 8, we took a bus to Tokyo. Went shopping the whole day! :D Lol. I didn't really buy alot of stuff... Hmmm... Just looked around. Bought a letter set to write letters to Charmaine about how awesome she was, and she said she'll write back to me. But apparently till now I still haven't received her letters. Oh, and I bought an Arashi CD! :D Super loved it! (: And also, I bought Julia a One Piece piano songbook, it had all the pieces of songs from one piece! We also took alot of neo-prints!
The next day, we went to disneyland! :D I went around the place with Wan Wen, Kelysha and Charmaine! What could be better than going to Disneyland with your husband and two children! Lolox! Haha. It was really crazy. We went to nearly all the rides, the splash mountain, space mountain, some childish rides also! Haha. Didn't see any Disney characters though. ):
So the last day finally came. Super sad much. Haha. I didn't expect time to fly so quickly lorh. D: Had fun on the airplane though. XD With all the music available and movies. I watched Good Morning Baltimore. Haha. But only halfway through. ): And our plane was A380! Awesome right! (:
Its super sad that the Japan Exchange trip ended this quickly. ): I had really alot of fun. Especially stripping at hot springs. Lolox! Anyway, here are the pictures! (: Loves!
